The
Vicksburg Battlefield Museum, a 501(c)3 non-profit took on
this project to
create a museum in the Old Vicksburg Depot dedicated to preserving Vicksburg's
rich history and heritage, with 18 years' experience in
operating a major museum in the Vicksburg market.
The
City of Vicksburg and the Mississippi Department of
Transportation have completed a $2.4-million restoration of the
Depot. We
have major collections displayed and need additional materials
and funds to complete the exhibits.
The
museum is a great addition to the tourism attractions
and industry in Vicksburg, with both education and
entertainment value for all audiences. The Old Depot
encourages Vicksburg visitors to stay long in downtown
Vicksburg and visit local businesses and attractions.
