The Fall of Dixie Diorama

This museum features the only diorama of the Siege of Vicksburg, which provides a birds-eye view of the layout of the battlefield, manned by over 2000 miniature soldiers and is approximately 250 square feet. To fully understand the Siege of Vicksburg, you must grasp the terrain, the leaders, and their strategies, and the people who endured the horrendous 47-day Siege.

The Vanishing Glory

This 30-minute film presentation steps back into history and shares the thoughts and feelings of the participants, the victims and those caught in the middle of the most important military operation in the history of the world. Diaries, letters and other accounts help you sense the fatigue, uncertainty and undying bravery and courage of people on both sides of the trenches during the 47-day Siege.

Boats and Ships

The producers of the "Great Ships" on the History Channel not only filmed much of their program using our collections, but they also called them a "Gold Mine". A walk through the Old Depot Museum is a walk through military and maritime history. Ships and boats long forgotten come to life in exact replica.
